Dungarvin is hosting a Virtual Hiring Event for experienced Direct Support Professionals to join our Rohnert Park Day Program!
If you have experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and are looking for a consistent weekday schedule where you can make a real impact, we would love to meet you.
WHAT: Same-day hiring event for Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
WHEN: August 20th, 2026
WHERE: Virtual Interviews. Join from your computer or smartphone.
POSITION: Direct Support Professional - Rohnert Park Day Program
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. | 32.5 hours per week
PROCESS: Apply for the event and complete the required pre-interview assessment. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to schedule a virtual interview with our Talent Acquisition team during the hiring event.

Job Description
More Than Caregiving
Our Day Program DSPs do much more than provide traditional caregiving support. They coach, teach, mentor, and engage adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the day.
You may lead activities involving art, music, games, cooking, reading, life skills, community outings, volunteering, and other enrichment opportunities. The goal is to help each person build skills, increase independence, participate in their community, and have meaningful experiences.
You will also provide hands-on personal care, behavioral support, and assistance based on each individual's needs.
What You'll Do
- Coach and mentor adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Lead activities, workshops, and life enrichment opportunities
- Teach daily living skills such as cooking, money management, communication, and community participation
- Encourage independence, choice, confidence, and active participation
- Lead community outings and volunteering opportunities
- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance
- Support individuals who may experience challenging behaviors
- Use positive behavioral support and redirection techniques
- Assist with lifting and transfers when needed
- Complete accurate daily electronic documentation
- Help with cooking, cleaning, and preparing program spaces
- Work closely with your team to maintain a positive, safe, and engaging environment
Qualifications
Who We're Looking For
This is an active, hands-on position, and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with and engaging others.
To be considered, you must have:
- 6+ months of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company van
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds
- Must be 21 years of age
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic documentation systems
- Comfort providing personal care and behavioral support
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Candidates should be patient, dependable, adaptable, professional, and comfortable taking initiative in a busy Day Program environment.
