WE OFFER:
- Compensation: $84,000 K Annually Fixed Rate.
- Work Environment: 5 days Onsite in Long Beach, CA.
- Team Culture: (Modify based on intake)
- Work Schedule: Typically, 8 AM - 5 PM PST Some travel is required
- Retirement Plan: 401 K plan with up to 3% employer match after one year of service.
- Company-Provided Hardware and Cellphone Stipend: All necessary equipment will be provided, along with a monthly stipend for cell phone expenses.

The Human Resources Manager is a hands-on HR builder and operator responsible for turning a high-volume, fast-moving HR function into a structured, scalable, and high-performing system. This role leads day-to-day onboarding compliance, credential tracking, employee records, and employee relations support while continuously improving the processes behind them.
This leader partners closely with operations to ensure HR practices are compliant with California employment law, operationally practical, and aligned to a rapidly growing workforce. The expectation is not just to maintain the work, but to redesign it, streamlining manual processes, strengthening data and document integrity, and building capability within a developing HR team.
What You Will Get To Do
- HR Operations & Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop a growing HR team by building structure, accountability, and consistent service delivery.
- Onboarding, Compliance & Document Integrity: Manage high-volume onboarding (I-9s, background checks, credential tracking) and maintain accurate, audit-ready employee records across HR systems.
- Employee Relations & Business Partnership: Support employee relations and investigations while partnering with leaders to ensure consistent policy application and operational alignment.
- LOA, Payroll & Workers' Compensation: Oversee coordination of leave of absence, payroll processes, and workers' compensation documentation with accuracy and compliance.
- Process Improvement & Workforce Insights: Identify inefficiencies, redesign manual workflows, and leverage workforce data (hiring, turnover, compliance trends) to improve decision-making.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in management within high-volume environments
- HR Compliance & Leadership Expertise: Strong knowledge of California employment law, employee relations, LOA, payroll, workers' compensation, investigations, performance management, and HR process development, with proven success coaching teams and influencing leaders
- High-Volume HR Operations: Experience managing 100+ hires per week or 4,000-6,000 annually, including onboarding, compliance, and non-exempt workforce documentation
- HR Systems & Technology: Experience with HRIS/ATS, payroll, timekeeping, background check systems (e.g., Workday, Paycom, iCIMS, ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, Sterling, HireRight), and audit-ready record management
- Data & Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft 365 skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) with ability to analyze HR data and translate insights into recommendations
NICE TO HAVE:
- Industry Expertise: Experience in healthcare, staffing, or other high-volume service environments
- HR Transformation Experience: Experience transitioning HR from manual to automated/HRIS-driven systems
- Training & Development Experience: Experience building onboarding or training programs
- Language Skills: Spanish fluency with ability to communicate clearly in both English and Spanish
