WHAT WE OFFER:
- Compensation: $ 73,000 K Annually Fixed Rate
- Work Environment: Onsite, 5 days per week, in Long Beach, CA office.

- Work Schedule: Typically 9:00 AM-6:00 PM PST with flexibility as business needs require; occasional travel to Torrance, Santa Ana, and Sun City.

This new HR Generalist role reports directly to the HR Director and is a high-impact, hands-on position designed for someone ready to make an immediate difference. The ideal candidate will take ownership of employee relations, compliance, benefits, and HR processes while building trust with both employees and leadership. You'll be the go-to resource for HR guidance, support investigations and performance management, lead the rollout of the employee handbook to ensure California compliance, and help build and maintain HR systems; currently manual but with the opportunity to implement technology. This role requires a proactive, independent, and resilient professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift quickly and challenges are met with practical solutions.
Qualifications
What You'll Do
- Be a Trusted HR Partner: Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, providing clear, approachable guidance and support
- Support Employee Relations: Handle ER issues as they arise, conduct investigations, support performance conversations, and resolve conflicts professionally
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and ensure HR processes meet compliance standards
- Coordinate Core HR Processes: Manage onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, leave management, and payroll coordination
- Build HR Systems & Documentation: Support the rollout of an employee handbook, maintain accurate personnel files, and improve HR process consistency
- Collaborate with Leaders: Work closely with managers to understand team needs and provide actionable HR solutions
- Drive Process Improvements: Identify gaps in HR operations and implement scalable solutions
- Act Proactively & Independently: Anticipate issues, prioritize effectively, and manage HR operations without constant direction
MUST HAVE:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 3+ years as a strategic HR generalist or combined operations/HR role
- Employee Group: Experience supporting large administrative or non-exempt groups (100 - 130 employees)
- HR Expertise: Strong knowledge of employee relations, California employment law, benefits administration, performance management, process development, and investigations. Experience in coaching and employee development
NICE TO HAVE:
- Industry Expertise: Background in home healthcare, homecare, or other service-oriented environments.
- Technical Proficiencies: iCIMS ATS, Paychex, matrix employee records systems, or other HR platforms; Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint
- Professional Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
- Language Skills & Communication: Spanish-speaking ability, with the capacity to communicate clearly and effectively in both English and Spanish.
