    TO QUALIFY:

    • Must have at least 1+ years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities OR at least six months of experience as a Job Coach
    • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is required 
    • Employees must be at least 18 years of age per Oregon State Administrative Rules
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, attire and personal presentation when interacting with persons served and their families.

    Job Description

    What You Get to Do: 

    The Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Job Coach is responsible for providing 1:1 support in individuals homes and workplaces, with a focus on achieving goals and building independence. The DSP/Job Coach will help individuals stay active and engaged by providing transportation to fun community events, work, hobbies, appointments, shopping trips, and other outings / errands. In the home, the DSP/Job Coach will assist with a variety of household duties including cleaning, laundry, meal prep, budgeting and establishing routines. In the workplace, staff will provide on-site mentorship at individuals' jobs, providing personalized 1:1 assistance tailored to each client's needs. 

    • Enrich and support the lives of the persons served while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
    • Assist with activities of daily living, including community-based supports and community outings based on interests. 
    • Provide one-on-one training and mentorship to caseload of individuals you support in their workplace and at home. 
    • Offer prompts, cues, and support to encourage skill development and independence.
    • Monitor and report progress, challenges, and work performance.
    • Help the individual set and achieve goals; assist in overcoming personal barriers.
    • Help clients communicate with employers and co-workers in the workplace.
    • Help develop positive social, work, and life skills.
    • Communicate with clients to understand their interests, skills, abilities, goals, and support needs.
    • Duties may periodically include personal care, medication, and mobility assistance. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    What Makes You a Great Fit: 

    • Must have at least 1+ years of professional experience supporting individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities OR at least 6+ months as a job coach. 
    • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is required. 
    • Ability to work independently and be resourceful to problem solve without direct supervision.
    • Have a true passion to help others.
    • Dependable, adaptable, flexible. 
    • Effective communication is key in this role. You will rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members. 
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, attire and personal presentation when interacting with persons served and their families.
    • Must be at least 18 years old 
    • Must be able to provide references 
    • Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
