    TO QUALIFY:

    • Employees must be at least 18 years of age per Oregon State Administrative Rules
    • Prefer personal or professional experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities. OR experience in front-facing customer service role and a true passion for helping vulnerable populations.
    • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is required for the Community Living Support Program.
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, attire and personal presentation when interacting with persons served and their families.

    Job Description

    What You Get to Do: 

    The Community Inclusion Support Specialist (DSP) is responsible for providing 1:1 support in individuals homes. The CISS/DSP will help individuals stay active and engaged by providing transportation to fun community events, hobbies, appointments, shopping trips, and other outings / errands. The CISS/DSP will also assist with a variety of household duties including cleaning, laundry, meal prep, budgeting and establishing routines. This program is to help the person served with living independently and day-to-day routines.

    • Enrich and support the lives of the persons served while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
    • Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
    • Assist with activities of daily living, including community-based supports.
    • Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed. 
    • Duties may periodically include personal care assistance and support with prescribed medications.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    What Makes You a Great Fit:

    • Effective communication is key in this role. You will rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members. 
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, attire and personal presentation when interacting with persons served and their families.
    • Must be at least 18 years old 
    • Must be able to provide references 
    • Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
