Special Note:

The Area Director (High Acuity) will lead a team of Program Directors and Community Support Managers and their staff who provide services/supports to individuals in a segment of business that specializes in supporting people with challenging behavior support needs in residential settings.

The AD will ensure that services/supports provided to individuals are of the highest quality and that there is adherence to a “no fail” concept. Create and maintain close relationships with families, guardians, and funders. Develop program budgets and supervise the management of expenses within budgets. Manage risk, minimize organizational liability and ensure all reasonable measures are taken to ensure safety of individuals supported, staff and the community.

Related to behavioral health services: Develop and implement programs and services to remediate behavioral and social problems for persons served. Must have competencies in areas related to:

•Behavior modification strategies that promote least restrictive approved alternatives

•Co-occurring mental health or neurocognitive disorders

•Data collection, tracking and reporting; demonstrated expertise with populations of mental health and cognitive impairments

•Ethical considerations related to behavioral services

•Functional analysis

•Functional assessment; measurement of behavior and interpretation of data

•Identifying desired outcomes

•Selecting intervention strategies to achieve desired outcomes

•Staff/caregiver training

•Support plan monitoring and revisions

 

This is a full-time, salaried position with a starting salary approximately $76,750/yr

Qualifications

Ideal candidates must:

  • have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Educational Psychology or an Allied Health Profession. Be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • have good decision-making and communication skills, be responsible, mature, and flexible.
  • communicate effectively in written and verbal forms using positive interpersonal skills.
  • have experience in working with people with disabilities who are dual diagnosis and/or who have complex behavior support needs.
  • have knowledge of the State laws (Chapter 51, Chapter 55 and Chapter 34).
  • have knowledge of available community resources for adult individuals and their families in crisis knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors that influence personality development.
  • be flexible to accommodate various programs, personnel and organizational needs.
