The HR Director position oversees OH and KY operations and offers a unique opportunity to be a strategic partner with Operations, while overseeing multiple HR departments possessing varying levels of HR expertise. This position offers autonomy, flexibility in schedule, and a great professional challenge. The position will work cooperatively with program management to provide human resources support in the areas of recruiting, hiring and training, and employee relations, specifically:

  • Effectively hire, train, supervise and manage the Human Resources and Training staff in the department, ensuring an effective and efficiently performing department.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development of employees.
  • Assist with the strategic planning to ensure the company is well positioned for growth and HR needs.
  • Ensure Human Resources functions comply with regulatory standards and the organization's policies and are performed effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee the implementation of effective employee recruitment strategies in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding employee relations issues to program management as requested.
  • Oversee the effective management of workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Ensure the development and application of a professional human resources orientation for all new staff.
  • Have direct communication and dialogue with the corporate Human Resources department.

Overnight travel may be required.

  • Must have 8-10 years of broad-based, exempt-level Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience in employee relations, recruiting, training and workers' compensation claims management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required and PHR certification preferred.
  • Must have supervisory experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills.
