Working directly as a home health and companion care provider, you will be able to assist in a residential, group home or day program setting. DSP caregivers provide support services and assistance to individuals in their homes or in the community. Candidates will have a desire to create lasting positive impacts on people's lives and enjoy coaching, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their goals.


• Respect individual right and assure they are met

• Increase individual self-esteem

• Assure hygiene needs are met and that individuals are appropriately dressed always

• Assure active involvement by individuals in all aspects of their program

• Implement and document on each person’s program; implement behavior programs as well

• Remain alert to behavior/physical changes and notify the Administrator when necessary

• Assist persons served with personal contacts

• Initiate individual involvement in activities; ensure persons served are offered choices

• Initiate and attend all required trainings

• Assist in staff development of peers

• Promote positive team work with other staff of the home and the organization

• Communicate with support services openly and effectively

• Provide persons served with daily needed health care, using appropriate resources

• Administer and handle medication according to policy and regulation

• Assure that nutritional needs of persons served are met

• Maintain systems established by the Administrator and coordinator, assisting in the daily implementation of   schedules related to upkeep and general cleanliness of the home

• Assist in maintaining the company vehicle and a safe environment

• Assure compliance with emergency procedure requirements
