Current openings for Skills Trainers interested in providing positive behavior supports and activities of daily life with kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the social services, I/DD and mental health fields.

Dungarvin provides residential and community/day supports for adults and in-home supports for children and adults with developmental disabilities. We are looking for dependable, compassionate employees with the desire to assist the people we support in living healthy, fulfilling lives by applying person-centered practices and upholding our mission statement:

Dungarvin is growing and is looking for exceptional candidates to provide life skills training to kids and adults in parents' homes. Successful candidates will be energetic and compassionate and have the ability to work well with parents and to implement positive behavior supports.

You will provide assistance with activities of daily living such as:

  • Community activities
  • Positive behavior supports (training provided!)
  • Implementing Individual Support Plans
  • Basic life skills coaching
  • Assisting with personal hygiene and cares

Computer experience and good oral and written communication skills are a plus. Some experience in social, human services, caregiving or medical field is desired but not required. Dungarvin provides paid, on-the-job training.

Part-time positions are available for afternoon, evening and weekend shifts. At the time of the interview, you will be able to discuss the hours and shift availability as well as your preferences.

Need to have a valid, current driver's license and an acceptable driving history (no more than 2 minor traffic violations and no major violations in the past 3 years). You will drive company van as needed.

Many of our positions also require using your own car for transporting individuals, so your personal auto liability insurance coverage is a requirement for these positions.

Compensation: $13.00 - $13.36 + benefits + paid trainings + paid time off.

First 2 weeks of training are paid at Oregon minimum wage. Benefits offered for positions 30+ hours. All positions offer paid training, paid time off (have to work at least 40 hours in a pay period), and 401k plan.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • We expect that our employees adhere to the mission of respecting and responding to the choices of people in need of supports
  • 18+ years of age
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass criminal background check per State of Oregon standards (you can request to see a list of disqualifying crimes)
  • Ability to lift, push and pull over 50 lbs frequently and over 100 lbs occasionally
  • Basic computer and Internet skills
  • Two acceptable work-related references
