We are currently seeking a very outgoing, dynamic and organized candidate to fill the position of Lead Trainer for Dungarvin in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full-time position with benefits offered. This position may require some evening and weekend hours. The candidate must be flexible to accommodate various personnel and organizational needs and understand that occasional overnight travel is expected.

The Lead Trainer directly supervises the Trainers in a specific geographical area and is responsible for conducting new employee orientations and annual and biennial trainings. The Lead Trainer will ensure that all training materials and equipment are properly maintained and are fully functional. Some additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current and proposed service rules and licensing regulations with a special focus on those related to staff training and development.
  • Reviewing organizational policies and systems pertaining to staff training for consistency with license requirements, informing and offering suggestions for changes to the HR Training Manager as needed.
  • Effectively hiring, training, supervising and managing the assigned Trainers, as well as providing ongoing coaching and development to assigned Trainers including, but not limited to, conducting performance evaluations, administering disciplinary actions and providing opportunity for development.
  • Reviewing and approving Trainer timecards in accordance with payroll deadlines/guidelines.
  • Maintaining an awareness of budgets for purchase of training materials and equipment, OSHA supplies, etc., and consulting with and obtaining approval of supervisor for all budgetary expenditures within the training department.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

  • Minimum high school diploma/GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred and/or 1-2 years experience or education related to teaching, training or in-service presentations.
  • Experience working with individuals who have disabilities is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, as well as time management and organizational skills.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid preferred. Ability to obtain certification and maintain required certifications required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Current auto liability insurance.
  • Acceptable criminal record.
