This position performs telemarketing and job development activities to identify competitive employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The Job Developer also provides activities that are expected to increase skills, provide work experience, foster choice, expand personal networks and build relationships with individual and community members with like interests.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Monitor all aspects of the program to ensure they meet Dungarvin expectations. Review standards and communicate expectations with individuals, guardians, employees and others.
  2. Ensure the atmosphere of the overall program is therapeutic, provides optimal growth for individuals, and preserves individuals' dignity and self-worth.
  3. Know and ensure implementation of all organizational policies and procedures.
  4. Educate potential employers of services available through the Supported Employment Program, and establish a strong working relationship with local employers.
  5. Identify employment opportunities through telemarketing efforts and employer visits to develop an ongoing pool of job openings.
  6. Establish strong working relationships with clients, employers, supervisors and coworkers to ensure successful placements.
  7. Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reports and statistics as they relate to job development.
  8. Remain updated in the field of Supported Employment by attending staff meetings, workshops, conferences and training sessions as required.
  9. Transport individuals to and from work, scheduled appointments, recreational activities or other activities in a safe and timely manner.
  10. Provide skill training to individuals served including, but not limited to, maladaptive behavior reduction, self-help, communication, community living, domestic, ADL and prevocational skills, including safety awareness.
  11. Provide instruction to individuals served to successfully complete various tasks and activities.
  12. Maintain records and complete paperwork as required by Dungarvin including, but not limited to, Kronos time recording, mileage, petty cash, medication documentation, incident reports and goal data.
  13. Adhere to individual's behavior and health management plans including, but not limited to, administration of medication, use of behavior modification techniques, and dietary restrictions.
  14. Act as an advocate for the individuals served with the employer, supervisor and coworkers.
  15. Work as a liaison between the individuals served and their employers to address problems and enhance the communication process.
  16. Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Satisfactory criminal history record.
  • Satisfactory driving record.
  • Valid auto liability insurance with reliable transportation.
  • Employment Specialist certification preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Sales and/or marketing experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate good decision-making, time management and communication skills, and be responsible, mature and flexible.
