QUICK JOB DESCRIPTION:
If you're not familiar with the responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional or Direct Care Worker, it's basically the most rewarding job ever! While specific responsibilities vary depending on the individual you are supporting, DSPs can provide a variety of daily living cares such as helping with house chores, medication administration, transportation to appointments, companionship, community activities, personal cares (bathing, changing, toileting), skills training, behavior management and much more. Essentially, your role is to assist our residents in living the best and most independent life as possible, respecting their choices and autonomy and promoting personal growth and safety.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be able to assist with lifting and transferring of persons served (50-100 lbs).
  • Have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Have an acceptable driving/criminal record (after receiving an offer, you will need to pass a criminal background check and DMV records check).
  • Have basic computer and English communication skills, as you will need to write electronic documentation each shift regarding the activities, health and behaviors of the people you support.
