Special Note:

The Behavior Specialist (BS) is responsible for developing Behavioral Support Plans (BSP) for individuals supported in our day program. The BS will assess an individual and develop a complete plan that outlines support strategies to address specific target behaviors as identified in the assessment process. The BS will be responsible for training the Direct Support staff and is the identified Program Director (PD) on all aspects of the Behavioral Support Plan. The BS will also be responsible for providing ongoing consultation and assistance to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for the purpose of updating the plan in response to the changing behavioral needs of the person served.

Required Education & Experience:
The Behavior Specialist must have a Master's in Social Work, Psychology or Special Education or ABA, BCaBA , OR be certified in RBT.

This position requires the use of computer software applications. Required software applications for this position include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Therap, Ultimate's, UltiPro HRIS and the Kronos timekeeping system.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a college degree.
  • Must possess a driving record that is acceptable by the agency's insurance company.
  • Must possess driver's license issued from state of residency.
  • Must have valid liability insurance on personal vehicle that may be used in emergencies while at work.
  • Must be able to pass rigorous criminal background check and abuse registry checks.
